UTRECHT UNIVERSITY ARTIST LAB: COLLABORATIVE CONSTELLATIONS

Presented in the University of Utrecht Summer School curriculum, as a component for the Posthuman and New Materialist program convened and led by Prof. Rosi Braidotti, this artist lab was a participatory process exploring the dynamic web of relations that inform and direct artistic inquiry, with an emphasis on highlighting and celebrating alterity in worlds beyond the human. Contemplating materials, sites, corporeal occupation and atmospheric engagement, students generated their own constellation of collaborators, de-centering themselves as makers and amplifying the presence of influences across a range of scales, forms and temporalities.

This lab is available as a workshop in varying lengths and is suited to artists with an established or emergent practice with an interest in experimental modes of idea generation, or expanding ecologic awareness into practical methodologies that can integrated into daily practice.
